Mercy offers free CT lung scans Mercy continues to offer a CT lung scan free-of-charge to current or former smokers age 50 or older, and individuals age 40 or older who have never smoked but have been exposed to second-hand smoke. Information about the study is available on line at: www.ielcap.org. RVC community blood drive A blood drive will be held at Hewitt Elementary School on Saturday, Dec. 1 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Those eligible should bring ID with a signature or photo. Donors must have a minimum weight of 110 lbs., must be between the ages of 16 and 75, must eat well and not have received a tattoo in the last 12 months. The drive began in 1999 for a boy who was sick with Leukemia and it has become an annual event since then. Covert Craft Fair and Festival On Dec. 1, the Raymar Children Fund, founded by Covert Principal Darren Raymar, will be having its first Holiday Craft Fair and Festival. Wogan Family Lecture Novelist Tom Phelan will discuss life in rural Ireland before the automobile at Molloy College on Dec. 2. Phelan's talk will be illustrated with selections from his novels.
