On Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. in the St. Agnes Cathedral Parish Hall, the Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce will host A Taste of Elegance, featuring sample signature dishes from Rockville Centre’s restaurants, music by Ace, wine tasting and raffles and more. Tickets are $30 per person if purchased by Oct. 1 and $35 at the door. Reserved tables of 10, which must be paid for by Oct. 1, are $270. Caring for Carly

Members of the community are invited to an Oct. 14 fundraiser, co-sponsored by Exit Links Realty and CJ's Coffee Shop, at 75 Seaman Ave. for 8-year-old Carly, a Watson 3rd grader who has been diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called Juvenile Dermatomyositis (JDM). The event, whose proceeds will go directly to Carly's family, will run from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m and will include a bouncy house, petting zoo, face painting, raffles, cotton candy and live music. Art & Music of the Renaissance/Baroque Period

On Oct. 14 at 3 p.m. in the Hays Theatre of Molloy College's Wilbur Arts Center, the public is invited to a free program featuring Mary Vahey, adjunct assistant professor SUNY-Suffolk; New York Institute of Technology; Nassau Community College, M.A., M.L.S., and Steven Tice, Doctoral Candidate and director, of the Malverne School of Music while they explore the Renaissance Period of artistic style that started in Italy and spread to most of Europe.
