South Nassau Communities Hospital commemorated Dr. Martin Luther King Day with a gathering of employees, and a donation to aid the surrounding community.
Nassau County Legislator Kevan Abrahams presented a citation to the South Nassau MLK organizing committee for helping to keep Dr. King’s dream alive.
The committee raised more than $1,000 to donate to the MLK Community Center in Rockville Centre. Sharon Sheppard, the assistant director of the center, said the funds would go to assist 69 students in the center’s after-school programs.
