South Side Middle School students create snowflakes for Sandy Hook
South Side Middle School students created hundreds of unique snowflakes to help decorate the “Winter Wonderland” theme that will be installed by members of the Sandy Hook community in that district’s temporary elementary learning facility, which the children will be returning to after the holiday break. Above, from left, students Benedict Albergo, Erik Mazzanobile, Winnie Chiffriller, Olivia Rodriguez, Leslie Rodriguez, teacher Meghan Dolce and student Caroline Dooney all participated in the program, creating handmade snowflakes to send to Sandy Hook students in the aftermath of the disastrous shooting on Dec. 14.
