Summer program succeeds again

The Rockville Centre Schools’ Summer Enrichment Program at South Side Middle School proved a huge success once again this year.

The program, under the direction of Principal Therese Cohen, gave approximately 375 elementary and middle school students the opportunity to participate in three hour-long classes each day. Classes included Math Mania, Fashion Fun, Cooking Without a Kitchen, Adventures in Art and Literature, Mad Scientists and Kids N’ Motion. The program culminated in Visitors’ Day on July 31, when parents were invited to come in and see their children’s classes in action.

The Rockville Centre Summer Pre-K Program ran simultaneously at Covert School, under the direction of Coordinator Jennifer Tramantano. This program allowed students entering kindergarten in September to participate in activities that focused on language development, listening skills, and fine and gross motor coordination, while providing opportunities for social development.
