Teens arrested for LIRR attacks

Nassau County 1st Precinct police officers arrested two teenage boys for the attacks near the Rockville Center LIRR station that occurred on May 4 and 5.

According to police, the two boys stole the cell phone from the hand of a woman walking near the train station on May 4.

On May 5, police said, a 36-year-old female victim was approached from behind while she was walking in front of 100 North Centre Avenue after coming off the train. One of the teens allegedly picked her up from behind and threw her to the ground. The second teen allegedly took her phone and the two fled. The woman sustained cuts and bruises to her face, legs and arms as well as a laceration above her eye.

On May 14, police arrested a 15-year-old Rockville Centre boy and charged him with second degree robbery. On May 16, police arrested a 13-year-old West Hempstead boy and charged him with the same.
