’Tis the season for craft fairs in Rockville Centre

As the holiday season draws closer and many residents begin searching for smaller, more personal gifts to give their loved ones, Rockville Centre has increasingly been the host of craft fairs and festivals.

The Raymar Children Fund, founded by Covert Principal Darren Raymar, held its first Holiday Craft Fair and Festival on Dec. 1. All the proceeds from the fair were directed to local families that were affected most by Hurricane Sandy.

The Anderson Recreation Center held its annual Holiday Crafts Fair and Flea Market on Dec. 2. Anthony Brunetta, superintendent of parks and recreation for the village, said that the turnout for the fair and flea market was good, though he did note that it was the time of the season for craft fairs and there was a lot of competition.
