Village fireworks

The Village of Rockville Centre will be holding its annual fireworks show on July 9. There will be food, music and Grucci Fireworks on Saturday evening (rain date Sunday, July 10). Entertainment and food begin at 6 p.m. The South Shore Symphony concert of summertime favorites will begin at 7:45 p.m. and the world famous Grucci Fireworks Show will begin at about 9:15 p.m.

Japanese brush painting for kids

Learn the beautiful art of sumi-e, Japanese brush painting. Kids will learn how to create paintings in this unique art style. For kids entering grades 1 through 5 on July 14 at 3 p.m. at the Rockville Centre Library. Children grade 3 and under must have a parent or caregiver present in the library during programs.

ArtsFest at Molloy

College

Starting the summer season off will be an ArtsFest Week running from July 6 through July 9 on the great lawn at Molloy College. Each night will bring a different evening of entertainment. Festivities are free but suggested donations are welcome. Food trucks and concessions are available. All funds will aid the Performing Arts Scholarship Fund at Madison Theatre Molloy College. Summer sounds

Dean Karahalis and the Concert Pops visit Eisenhower Park’s Lakeside Theatre, on Saturday, for an evening of delightful tunes. Guest vocalist Deana Verone joins Karahalis and his orchestra for a relaxing program of light classics and lively hits. Step lively to some jazzy tunes

The acclaimed 1920s-era revival band Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks visit Old Westbury Gardens, as part of its Picnic Pops series, on Wednesday, 7 p.m. (gates open at 5:30 p.m.) Bring a lawn chair or blanket and some friends, and bandleader Giordano and his ensemble will provide the soundtrack for an enjoyable evening that may even get some folks up on their feet.
