A Bellmore man was arrested on Tuesday after he allegedly sold more than $6,000 worth of property on Christmas Eve that was stolen from a Garden City home the day before.

According to the Nassau County Police Department, Brian Tierney, 23, of Henry Street, sold four watches, valued at $4,700, to a coin and jewelry store on Sunrise Highway in Massapequa Park on Dec. 24, 2016. Then, on the same day, he sold electronic devices worth $1,500 to a store on Broadway, officials said.

Police connected the property to a St. James Street home burglary the day before the sale.

After investigating, detectives were able to locate Tierney in Garden City Tuesday evening, where they arrested him without incident.

Tierney was charged with third-degree and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and was set to be arraigned in Hempstead First District Court on Wednesday.
