Busy first days at MSH

Posted

The first week at Midreshet Shalhevet High School were full of activities ranging from orientations, a general organization welcome, getting acquainted with the new coordinator of student activities — Nechama Strauss — meeting new teachers, classmates, and big and little sisters, book pickup, locker assignments, and more, crammed into three busy days.

The North Woodmere school also kicked off the special learning environment of providing both formal and informal educational experiences with two special discussions on Judaism on Sept. 6, given by Dean Rabbi Zev Meir Friedman and Principal Esther Eisenman, which began to set the tone for the upcoming holidays. MSH’s aim is for students to develop an appreciation of Torah and Jewish law, as students learn how to apply these values to real world situations.

The MSH Department of Student Activities and G.O. was hard at work all summer planning the 12th annual school-wide Shabbaton that will take place Sept. 13-15 at  Camp Seneca Lake. The aim is to bring the MSH community together in a more relaxed setting. Students bond with each other and teachers, strengthen friendships and create new ones.
