After a brief, serious illness, Isaac Hasday, the father of Dr. Keith Hasday and Craig (Ina) Hasday, both of Rockville Centre, died peacefully on the morning of Aug. 13. He was 88.

Isaac is also survived by his wife of 68 years, Dora, sons Chester, Robert and Scott, 15 grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.

A World War II Army Air Corps veteran who served as a bombardier in raids over Germany, Isaac, a resident of Commack, was a CPA and owned an insurance agency in Valley Stream. He enjoyed paddleball and checkers but mostly enjoyed time spent with his family, his son said.

A funeral was held at the New Montefiore Cemetery on Aug. 15 and family and friends gathered at Craig and Ina’s Rockville Centre home on Aug. 15 and 16 to celebrate Isaac’s life.

In lieu of flowers, the family said that contributions in honor of Isaac Hasday may be made directly to: The Gurwin Jewish Geriatric Foundation, 68 Hauppauge Road, P.O. Box 9017, Commack, NY  11725-9017.
