The Rockville Centre Breast Cancer Coalition hosted a special launch party and guest bartender night at Kasey's Kitchen and Cocktails on March 9.

Over 150 people attended the event and raised money for the new non-profit organization, which has been in operation for about a month.

“It was a hugely successful night for us, and we are very excited to be bringing a support system to our village for women and men who are undergoing the treatment of breast cancer,” said Erin O'Sullivan, the founder and co-president of the coalition.

The organization’s mission is to provide support services to those in the village community who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. They aim to provide education and programs to help empower women and men to make informed decisions regarding their treatment.

O’Sullivan and co-president Peg McDonald are long time Rockville Centre residents who both grew up in the village. Both are volunteering their time to ensure that the programs and services provided continue to support their community and the men and women who are diagnosed with breast cancer.

The coalition’s outreach program is designed to provide support breast cancer victims in areas of child care, meal delivery, house cleaning, transportation, wellness services and financial assistance.
