Village to start flushing out street hydrants Oct. 24

Flushing schedule and locations

Wednesday, Oct. 24, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. — North of DeMott Avenue, between North Village Avenue to end of east territory.

Thursday, Oct. 25, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Between Lakeview Avenue and DeMott Avenue, west of Long Beach Road.

Friday, Oct. 26, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Between Sunrise Highway and DeMott Avenue, east of Long Beach Road.

Monday, Oct. 29, midnight to 8 a.m. — Between Lakeview Avenue and Merrick Road.

Tuesday, Oct. 30, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Entire area south of Merrick Road.

The village will be flushing out its water mains from Oct. 24 to Oct. 30. The flushing of hydrants may cause some fluctuation of water pressure or discolored water to flow into homes and businesses.

Although this water is perfectly safe to drink, it may stain laundry. Village officials are advising residents not to schedule projects that require clear water during the flushing period.
