More than 200 people attended the Rockville Centre Breast Cancer Coalition’s first annual Fashion Show last Sunday at Bridgeview Yacht Club in Island Park.
Seventeen models, which included breast cancer survivors, those currently in treatment and their supporters, took to the runway to raise money for the Coalition and stand up to the disease.
“It was just very inspiring for these women who went through so much to just feel beautiful and just feel empowered and comfortable in their own skin,” said Pauline Festa, a member of the Coalition’s board.
All proceeds benefited the Coalition, which was launched about a year ago and provides services for local residents going through treatments and their families.
