Awave of Technicolor uniforms flooded the streets of Sea Cliff last Saturday for the village’s annual Little League parade, which kicks off a fun-filled season of baseball, softball and tee-ball in the village.
Aspiring young ballplayers suited up to greet residents along the parade route. The teams marched from Prospect Park down Sea Cliff Avenue to Clifton Park, accompanied by a trio of bagpipers.
The young sluggers were joined by coaches and parents to celebrate the Opening Day festivities. Since the game is America’s favorite pastime, attendees enjoyed a rendition of the National Anthem, and local band Insomnia also played some tunes. Sea Cliff Mayor Edward Lieberman and Civic Association President Ann DiPietro had the honor of throwing out the first pitches of the season.
