Nasrin Ahmad, a Republican, began working as a file clerk in the Town of Hempstead Clerk’s office in 1998, before rising to the position of town clerk in September 2013, appointed after Mark Bonilla abruptly left office. Prior to that, the Salisbury resident served in an advocacy role in Parent Teacher Associations in the East Meadow School District, where she founded clubs that promoted diversity and helped include foreign cultures into the schools. more
