Police seek Levittown home invader

Posted

Nassau County Police are investigating a home invasion in Levittown on Wednesday, near the Wantagh border.

According to police, an unknown man entered a home on North Jerusalem Road through an unlocked door at 4:40 a.m. on Feb. 3. Armed with a knife and lead pipe, he went to the second floor and woke up three adults — two females and one male — and a younger male. The robber forced the victims into the bathroom and ransacked the house, stealing the keys to a 2005 Honda CRV and an ATM card.

Another male resident returned home during the robbery and locked himself in a first-floor bathroom. The suspect banged on the door with the pipe while the victim called police. The robber then fled in the family’s Honda before officers arrived. No one was injured.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5-foot-6, 165 pounds wearing a dark jacket and blue latex gloves. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-TIPS.
