Von Glahn unopposed in Seaford

In the Seaford Fire District, Commissioner George von Glahn is up for re-election. He has been on the Board of Fire Commissioners for the past 10 years, and is currently serving as its chairman. Von Glahn is also a long-time volunteer firefighter in Seaford.

Von Glahn, who was unavailable for further comment, is running unopposed. Voting will take place at the Seaford Firehouse, 2170 Southard Ave., on Tuesday, Dec. 9 from 6 to 9 p.m.

The Board of Commissioners, made up of five people, is responsible for the providing the necessary apparatus, buildings and equipment for the Seaford Fire Department. It also sets the annual budget. Commissioners are unpaid and meet monthly. Terms are for five years.
