One dead, one hospitalized in Wantagh Parkway crash

Levittown motorcyclist pronounced dead at scene, police report

A Levittown motorcyclist died, and his passenger was hospitalized, on June 6, after he lost control of his motorcycle on the Wantagh State Parkway, according to state police.

At approximately 4 p.m., William Moore, 55, was riding his motorcycle up the parkway with a female passenger. When the pair drove near Exit W6 to Merrick Road, Moore’s motorcycle careered into the center guardrail, ejecting the two from the vehicle, which then skidded out into the parkway.

Moore was pronounced dead at the scene, while his passenger was brought to Nassau University Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.
