In last week’s story “Developer proposes apartments; village still pursuing eminent domain,” I was pleased to read what Mayor Ed Fare said that despite the new proposal, he still wants the hearing to go forward. “We want to consider all options,” he said. “The residents of Gibson have suffered enough. We’re trying to consider all factors, make sure no stone is unturned.”  more
After Dr. Leonard Bleicher purchased the stores on Gibson Boulevard, rather than build, Bleicher got rid of all the tenants, mainly by refusing to renew their leases, and then destroyed the stores and property, including the sidewalk as anyone can see.  more
Some of the comments made by a couple of people in the Herald article “The eyesore of Gibson” (April 27-May 3), I believe, were misdirected. Dr. Leonard M. Bleicher, a want-to-be Gibson real estate tycoon, deliberately destroyed the very stores he purchased. more
