30 prescription drug 'drop-off' sites to open Saturday in Nassau
April 26 is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

On Saturday, April 26, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., 30 locations throughout Nassau County will serve as "drop-off" sites for the disposal of prescription drugs.

To view an entire list of the sites, click here and enter "Nassau County."

The effort is an extension of National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, a nationwide initiative by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency.

The day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, according to the DEA, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

To learn more about the initiative, visit the DEA website. Any questions can be directed to the DEA's Call Center at 1-800-882-9539.
