Madeline and the Bad Hat
That engaging heroine of Ludwig Bemelman’s beloved book series, Madeline, arrives at the Madison Theatre full of whimsy and charm. The young Parisian girl must find a way to deal with a “bad hat” in this original musical based on the book of the same name. The appealing production, presented by the New Jersey-based ArtsPower National Touring Theatre, traces Madeline’s adventures in this amusing tale of enemies who become friends. Despite starting off on the wrong foot when her mischievous new neighbor, Pepito, moves in next door, Madeline eventually learns that first impressions aren’t everything — under the watchful eye of Miss Clavel, the caretaker of the girls at Madeline’s boarding school.
