“This is another one of our dreams come true,” Brull said. “When we started the Tommy Brull Foundation, we thought maybe we could have a special needs surf camp. Part of the reason we ran the surf camp is because my brother Tommy enjoyed surfing. Kids with special needs have a variety of challenges, and surfing is a thing where it can be modified based on the child’s individual needs. They got a lot of joy out of it and felt like they accomplished something.”

Brull said that the foundation intends to make the camp an annual summer program at ANCHOR.

“They said this is the best thing that’s happened to Camp ANCHOR,” Brull said of ANCHOR staff and parents. “We looking forward to continuing it next year and expanding it in the years ahead.”

The Tommy Brull Foundation’s annual benefit is scheduled for Nov. 8 at Cannon’s Blackthorn at 3 p.m. For more information, visit http://tommybrullfoundation.org
