Armed robbery in Freeport

First Squad detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred in Freeport on Saturday, June 27, at 5:20 p.m.

According to detectives, a male victim, 21, after responding to an advertisement on Facebook, made arrangements to meet with a male subject in front of 51 Shonnard Ave., to purchase 65 Texas Instrument TI-84 calculators for $1,000 in cash. As the victim was waiting, two male subjects armed with a handgun entered his vehicle and demanded the money. When the victim did not comply, the subjects took his wallet containing several credit and debit cards, directed him to drive to 63 N. Columbus Ave., where they parked. The victim supplied his bank account pin number after the subjects punched and threatened to shoot him. One of the subjects left the car and withdrew approximately $1,000 from the victim’s account at an ATM. The subjects fled on foot northbound on N. Columbus Ave. and eastbound on Parsons Ave.

Both subjects are described as male blacks with thin builds. Subject #1 is 5’11” tall, 140-160 lbs., 22-24 years of age, dark complexion, messy beard, chipped/broken front teeth, and armed with a black revolver. Subject #2 is 5’9”-5’10” tall, light complexion, and 18-19 years of age. No further description is available.
