Calhoun Colts celebrate at Homecoming
Donovan Berthoud/Herald
Calhoun senior Gianna Saladino had her face painted by Despina Psyllis during Calhoun Colt Fest 2012.

Calhoun High School put on a “Colt Fest” for its Homecoming weekend, and students were the stars of the show.

Donning signs, uniforms, stickers and face paint, Calhoun students exuded school spirit on Sept. 29 as they turned their Merrick neighborhood blue and white.

Later on, the football team took to the field and defeated New Hyde Park 21-7. Ryan Mulcahy did the job on defense, forcing two fumbles and catching two interceptions. The offense racked up 166 yards rushing en route to the victory.
