Clarke M.S. celebrates a decade of Penny Harvest

Students at W. Tresper Clarke Middle School in the East Meadow School District held their Tenth Annual Penny Harvest Award Presentation Assembly. In just 10 years, Clarke has raised $37,810.86. This year, the students collected $4,300.

Debbie Marks and her students, also known as the Penny Harvest Committee, presented various organizations with donations throughout their Penny Harvest Assembly.

This year’s chosen organizations included the Alzheimer’s Foundation, America’s Vetdogs, ASPCA, Autism Speaks, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Camp Anchor, Clarke’s Giving Tree, Damien House, Doctors Without Borders, Family & Children’s Services (Family Ties Program), Interfaith Nutrition Network, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Musicorps, 1 in 9 The L.I. Breast Cancer Action Coalition, Ronald McDonald House, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Smile Train and To Write Love on Her Arms.

Each year, Clarke Middle School students live up to their school slogan, “Clarke Cares,” by demonstrating compassion, empathy and collaboration.
