The Lawrence and Hewlett-Woodmere school districts are closed today due to the weather that is a wintry mix of ice and rain, which is causing hazardous road conditions.
Currently, Peninsula Public Library in Lawrence is open. The Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library is closed.
All Hebrew Academy of Long Beach schools are closed, including Davis Renove Stahler High School for Biys in Woodmere and Stella K. Abraham High School for Girls in Hewlett. The Five Towns Early Learning Center in Inwood, Lawrence Woodmere Academy in Woodmere and Hebrew Academy of Nassau County in Uniondale are closed.

A winter storm warning is in effect to 6 p.m. Ice accumulations, from a coating to one-quarter inch is likely, especially in Nassau County, which will create dangerous conditions on roadways.

Cedarhurst village is asking resident to park all cars in the driveway. This will allow  plows to properly and safety clean the streets, officials.
