Arrests

A 21-year-old male of Jamaica was arrested and charged with possession of a forged instrument for attempting to pass a forged check for $995.63 at Citibank on Merrick Road at 4 p.m. on Sept. 22.

On Sept. 22, a 21-year-old male of Woodmere and a 19-year-old female, a 19-year-old male and an 18-year-old male of Lynbrook, were arrested and charged with robbery, which stemmed from an incident on Sept. 21 on Union Avenue.

At 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 25, a 20-year-old male of Rosedale was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (psilocybin cubensis spores “mushrooms”) and speeding on Merrick Road.

A 25-year-old of Bellmore was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (heroin) and criminal possession of hypodermic needles on the Lynbrook Long Island Railroad platform at 8:55 p.m. on Sept. 25.

On Sept. 25 at 9:05 p.m., a 20-year-old male of Lynbrook was arrested and charged with criminal mischief on Winthrop Street.

At 9:07 p.m. on Sept. 25, a 27-year-old female of Lynbrook was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and two open Nassau County warrants on Winthrop Street.

Burglary

Someone broke the rear door and window of Ara Market on Hempstead Avenue and removed $800 in cash and $10,000 worth of lottery tickets between 6:20 p.m. on Sept. 18 and 7:05 a.m. on Sept. 19.

Identity theft

At 1 p.m. on Sept. 19, someone took out several withdrawals from a victim’s Nassau Educator’s Federal Credit Union bank account without their permission. Total fraudulent charges totaled $607.

Someone cashed a fraudulent check against a victim’s USAA Federal Savings Bank account without their permission on Sept. 20 at 11:55 a.m. The total fraudulent charges were $786.

Grand larceny

On Sept. 21 at 8:50 a.m., someone removed several items from an unoccupied 2013 Jeep, which was parked in the victim’s driveway on Maple Avenue. Items stolen included a Lenovo laptop computer and miscellaneous clothing. The total cost of items stolen was approximately $1,491.55.
