A van carrying students to the Kulanu Center for Special Services in Cedarhurst and other schools collided with a car at the intersection of Central and Grove avenues in Cedarhurst at 7:40 a.m. Friday morning, according to Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department Chief John McHugh.

The van’s driver and the bus matron, both women, were taken to South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside for treatment. The extent of their injuries are unknown, McHugh said. Two student passengers refused medical attention, he said. The one Kulanu student on the bus was not injured, center officials said. The driver of the car, also a woman, was not injured.
