Long Beach City Council meeting — Jan. 21, 7 p.m. at City Hall
The City Council will be presented with a number of resolutions at Tuesday’s meeting, including a resolution to settle a lawsuit against the owners of the Superblock; a resolution to amend the city’s code in order to reduce infiltration and inflow into the sanitary sewer system, groundwater and waterways, by requiring inspection, testing, repair, replacement and ongoing maintenance of privately-owned sewer laterals within the city — inspection will only be necessary by the owner at the time of sale of a property or when renovation costs exceed 50 percent of the assessed value of the property. Chamber of Commerce meeting
On Wednesday Jan. 22, at The Park Sports Bar & Grill, 20 West Park Ave. 7 p.m. iStar Financial Management will be making a special presentation on their future plans to develop the Superblock.

Zoning Board of Appeals
Shore Road-Long Beach Superblock LLC, a subsidiary of iStar, will appear before the Zoning Board of Appeals on Thursday, where it will seek a height and density variance for a new mixed residential and commercial development on the 6-acre parcel between Riverside and Long Beach Boulevards, East Broadway and the boardwalk. Additionally, Ebrahim Shokrian and Raymond Davoodi are seeking a variance for height, lot area, side yards and recreation areas for a new eight-unit multiple dwelling at 848 E. Broadway.
