A Queens teenager has been charged with attempted robbery, following the alleged beating of a 14-year-old boy in Elmont on Feb. 13, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

According to police, James Bullock, 17, of Cambria Heights, Queens, along with five other men, confronted the Elmont boy while he was walking eastbound on Dutch Broadway around 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As the boy walked past the group, one of the men called out to him, and although the boy didn't respond and continued walking, the men ran over and surrounded him, detectives said.

Immediately after surrounding him, one of the men reached into the boy's pocket, causing it to rip, police said, and then the men began punching the boy's face, head and body. When the boy fell to the ground, the men ran off without taking any proceeds, officers said, adding that the boy refused medical attention at the scene.

Bullock was arrested shortly thereafter by Nassau police, and charged with attempted robbery. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Feb. 21, at First District Court in Hempstead.

Anyone with information about the other men involved in this incident should call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-8477. All calls are kept confidential.
