Members of Elmont Union Free School District’s Board of Education celebrated 36 district students who achieved proficiency on the New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test (NYSESLAT) at their recent board meeting.

The exam is designed annually to assess the English proficiency of all English language learners enrolled in K-12 in New York State schools. The test gives the state and schools important information about the English language development of English language learners.

Superintendent of Schools Al Harper joined the board and administrators from each school building in congratulating the students on this achievement.
