Three Rockville Centre firefighters received minor injuries while fighting a blaze that engulfed a home on Long Beach Road on Feb. 12.

The fire started in the basement of the home, at 192 South Long Beach Road at the southernmost tip of the village, and quickly spread to the upper floors. Chief John Thorpe of the RVCFD was the first on scene and reported the fire had already spread from the basement.

The Oceanside, Lynbrook, Malverne, Lakeview and East Rockaway fire departments all responded to the scene to help control the fire.

According to RVCFD spokesman John Mirando, three firefighters were injured at the scene: two received minor burns and one was treated for smoke inhalation. All have been treated and released.

The Nassau County Fire Marshal is still investigating the cause of the fire.
