Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano welcomed the students and staff of H. Frank Carey High School to the Legislative Chambers of the Theodore Roosevelt Executive & Legislative Building where he honored many talented Carey athletes. Mangano joined Principal Val Angelillo and Athletic Director Matt McLees in commending the students on their achievements.

“It takes years of practice, dedication and persistence to earn the championship title and that is exactly what all of these students have done. Their years of training have paid off, which has made their parents, their coaches, their schools, and Nassau County proud,” Mangano said.

After the athletic awards ceremony were concluded, the Carey High School Choir under the direction of Michael Moreno entertained the audience by singing Christmas Carols at the County’s Annual Tree Lighting.

Mangano remarked that “it is students such as all of these Carey students here today, that give of their time and talent to the community, that make us all proud to call Nassau County home.”
