“It’s amazing to think that The N.Y. Rising Community Reconstruction Program just awarded $3,000,000.00 to Madison County / Oneida for the relocation of their Department of Public Works away from the 100 year flood zone in addition to relocating the fuel tanks, salt storage sheds, and drainage modifications yet the Village of Freeport continues to jeopardize millions of tax dollars knowing that it is only a matter of time before we encounter similar flooding conditions and sustain major financial losses.

“I will continue to lobby the Governor to veto this bill as the needs of the municipality simply exceed the suggested uses recommended by Deputy Speaker  Hooper,” Mayor Kennedy concluded.
