Halloween Fun Festival
Molloy College’s Great Lawn is the setting for a fall adventure, including some all-important haunting. The community event, now in its third year, hosted by the Madison Theatre, features a haunted house, a scarecrow park, magicians, a costume parade, and related activities along with family concert in the Madison Theatre. Community organizations and Molloy’s student clubs have joined forces for this festival, celebrating the harvest season and Halloween. The many activities include mask making, pumpkin painting, cupcake decorating, a marshmallow roast, bowling and even trick or treating through Molloy’s residence halls. It all culminates with a family concert of “A Night on Bald Mountain,” featuring student dancers from Leggz Ltd. Dance, with choreography by Leggz Director Joan Hope MacNaughton.
Saturday, Oct. 24, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Admission is free. Madison Theatre at Molloy College, 1000 Hempstead Ave., Rockville Centre. (516) 323-4444 or www.madisontheatreny.org.

Ghostly Gala
Long Island Children’s Museum opens its doors for its annual Ghostly Gala, always a popular source of Halloween fun for area families. Everyone is encouraged to visit the museum in their most creative and dazzling costumes (adults too). The mood will be set with creepy music heard throughout the building, as everyone gathers for an evening of festive goings-on, including some trick or treating throughout the galleries. And, always, some bats make an appearance, courtesy of the Organization for Bat Conservation. Get to know these creatures from around the world, in the museum theater, at 6:15, 7, 7:45 and 8:30 p.m.
