From center field to center stage

“Bernie was one of our best received performers when he played here in 2012,” says Angelo Fraboni, the Madison Theatre’s artistic director. “It was a great concert and we look forward to having him back on stage. He brings a lot of joy to a lot of people. He’s a top talent and we are thrilled that he will be here again. And, it’s for such a good cause.”
Williams will perform his sophisticated mix of Latin rhythms, smooth jazz, blues, and pop classics, backed up by his dynamic band.
“The band and I are so excited to be returning to Molloy College and the Madison Theatre to help raise funds supporting the Rockville Centre Challenger Division and the Long Island Bombers,” Williams says. “When Ted Fass first approached my manager Steve Fortunato about having this benefit concert, and Steve told me about it, I was immediately on board, and so was everyone in the band. Every musician in the band, our techs, and staff are all huge baseball fans.
“We all love the game and I really admire Ted for all he is doing to ensure that anyone — regardless of whatever challenges they may face… has the opportunity to play the game of baseball.
“A lot of people will come up to me and tell me they were fans of mine when I played with the Yankees, but I will tell you that I am fans of these Challenger and Bomber players, as well as their families and care givers who make it possible for them to take the field. “I am grateful to all who have purchased tickets and hope that we can fill the Madison Theatre, celebrate a special night of music and baseball and raise a lot of money. Our music director and saxophone player, the great Richie Cannata and his son, our vocalist Eren Cannata, hail from Long Island so this a like a home game for them. We’ll have our entire nine-man All-Star Band together for a night of great music.”
