Gathering food for the hungry

On Monday, Village Trustees Ed Corrado and Stanley Lombardo, along with ROK Health and Fitness owners Bob D’Urso, Mike Hawksby, Manager Craig D’Urso and member Al Compagnoni, picked up food from previously designed drop-off locations to assembly them into boxes that will eventually go to people in need.

“It was a success, with everyone coming together to make sure that the pantries are stocked for Thanksgiving,” said Hawksby.

The men decided to donate the collection of food to three pantries: St. Raymond Parish Social Ministry, the Church of the Nazarene, Bethany Congregational Church, and The Inn.

As of Monday afternoon, they were putting together the packages at the Charles H. Formont Senior Center on James Street.
