Girl Scouts lend their green thumbs at Camman's Pond

Posted

A dozen Merrick Girl Scouts from Troop 2547 spent the afternoon of Sunday, Oct. 5, helping keep their community beautiful by planting flowers and cleaning up trash at Camman’s Pond Park in south Merrick.

Activists from the South Merrick Community Civic Associations also lent a hand. SMCCA regularly invites local Girl and Boy Scout troops to join in improvement projects at Camman’s Pond and around Merrick, encouraging the children to appreciate their community, the environment and volunteerism.
