St. Agnes Cathedral School held its annual Green and Gold competition on March 14, and this year’s victors were the Gold Team.
The event pits teams of seventh graders, going by the name Army Green, against the eighth graders — The Golden Sensation Sweeping the Nation — in a series of 14 sports events.
The events include sports for both boys and girls. In addition, students earn points for sportsmanship, props they create and the cleverness of their team’s T-shirts.
This year’s competition was close, coming down to the last event, said Physical Education Teacher Kathleen Cook. In the end, Gold beat Green 305 to 272.
