Great community spirit in Lynbrook
Fire Department vs Baptists in annual charity softball game
Members of the Lynbrook Baptist Church and the Lynbrook Fire Department played their fourth annual charity softball game last Saturday at Greis Park. The LFD won the game 12-4 — but the real winners were the wounded warriors.
Ticket sales and donations totaled $7,257. All proceeds will go to the Nassau County Fire Fighters-Operation Wounded Warrior charity.
“It was a wonderful day,” said Pastor Bob Walderman, and God blessed us with good weather. There was good spirit in the crowd, and the people who donated were a great group. It was a fun community event.”
Tickets were $5, and an Ipad, a 39-inch HGTV, and a Sony camcorder were raffled off.
