Helping their almost neighbors

Communities from all over have been reaching out to help Oceanside in the aftermath of the storm. Some have been far away, and others have been pretty close to home.

The Plainview-Old Bethpage School District “adopted” School 4 in Oceanside. Students from POB came to School 4 earlier this week and brought food and other goods with them. The POB and Oceanside students worked together to make baskets for School 4 families who need them after Hurricane Sandy.

School 4 Principal Joanna Kletter attended school in Plainview-Old Bethpage and went back to work there after she became a teacher.

The school has arranged for families to privately and anonymously receive the baskets.
