The Hispanic Brotherhood of Rockville Centre is planning on holding its 29th Annual Scholarship Dinner on May 8 at Temple Avodah in Oceanside.

The Scholarship Dinner is the Hispanic Brotherhood’s largest fundraiser of the year. The Hispanic Brotherhood has been providing resettlement services, after-school care and tutoring, a club for seniors and much more for 30 years. The Scholarship Dinner helps the organization give deserving Latino students from Rockville Centre and Oceanside scholarships to help pay for college.

At the dinner, the Brotherhood will also be honoring individuals who have made meaningful contributions to the community. This year’s honorees are Gloria Baca, the manager and community relationship director of Affinity Health Plan; Brother Thomas P. Casey, FSC, the executive director of the De La Salle School; Michael J. Dowling, the president and CEO of North Shore LIJ; Miriam Garcia, the executive director of Adelante; Jenny Jorge, vice president of operations of Compare Supermarket; Ryan Koutsogiannis, vice president store manager of TD Bank in Rockville Centre; and Theresa A.
