An Inwood man led state police in Hamburg on a high-speed chase in a stolen car and hit a state police vehicle, which sent both cars into an unoccupied postal delivery truck before being arrested around 3 p.m. on June 7, officials said.

Jaquan Tishan Grandy, 21, of Grand Central Place, allegedly stole a gray 2014 Chevrolet Malibu with a New Jersey registration and headed east on I-78, said state police who caught up to the car on the interstate near Exit 29.

Grandy then turned off I-78 and onto North Fourth Street in Hamburg, turned onto Port Clinton Avenue and made another turn into the Hamburg Market parking lot. He drove through the lot, endangered pedestrians and got back on Fourth Street, where the multiple vehicle crash occurred, according to police. All three vehicles were severely damaged. Grandy and the state trooper were treated for unspecified injuries at Reading Hospital.

Police said Grandy was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, receiving stolen property, fleeing police, unauthorized use of an automobile and several traffic violations.
