Hon. Anthony Marano, administrative judge of Nassau County, has been chosen by the Criminal Courts Bar Association of Nassau County to receive the 2010 Norman F. Lent Memorial Award. He is a resident of North Valley Stream.

The prestigious award will be presented at the association’s annual dinner-dance on March 11 at the Fox Hollow in Woodbury. It is presented each year to an individual who, through actions and deeds, has consistently maintained the high standards of the legal profession. In addition, Marano is being recognized for his steadfast dedication and extraordinary leadership of the Nassau County Court System.

Marano, a graduate of St. John’s University School of Law, was elected judge of the Nassau County District Court in 1992 after more than 20 years as a private practitioner handling both criminal and civil matters in state and federal courts. As administrative judge of Nassau County, he oversees the operation of all the courts in the county with direct supervision of nearly 90 judges and more than 1,000 non-judicial employees.
