LIRR service restored on Long Beach, Far Rockaway and West Hempstead branches

But expect hour-long delays

Service was suspended on four branches of the LIRR on Tuesday afternoon.

The LIRR announced at about 3:15 p.m. that service was suspended on the Long Beach, Babylon, Far Rockaway and West Hempstead branches due to signal trouble at Valley Stream. It announced that service was restored at about 4 p.m. but that delays will continue.
