50+ Comedy Tour
Funny is even better at a certain age, according to Paul Anthony, whose Long Island Comedy Festival brings its latest comedy showcase to Rockville Centre. This entertaining evening of stand-up, hosted by sAnthony, of course, features a lineup of creative comedy pros who have performed at top venues in Manhattan and elsewhere. They all have one thing in common – all over age 50. George Rini, Carie Karavas, Bill McCarty, and Frankie Pace contribute their unique comic insights to a memorable evening of stand-up — for mature audiences. Rini, known for his down-to-earth comic style; Karavas, a tough, street smart, wisecracking comic; McCarty, whose routines elevate stand-up to the level of fine art; and the zany Pace, who wows his audience with impressions and props, come together for an unforgettable evening.
Saturday, Sept. 24, 8 p.m. $35. Madison Theatre, Molloy College, 1000 Hempstead Ave., Rockville Centre. (516) 323-4444 or www.madisontheatreny.org.

Check out the glass kaleidoscopes from Joanne Jacobs of Fantasy Glass-Works in West Hempstead and Denisse Olaya and Juan Chavez’s jewelry designs, representing Denisse Aneke Jewelry in East Meadow, among the local participants. As always, the family-friendly event also features arts and crafts demonstrations and activities for the kids.
