Thank you for supporting Jalisa Barnes
To the Editor:
I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the fundraiser for Jalisa Barnes on Aug. 12 at The Fishery.
I couldn’t be more pleased with how well it turned out, and I’m happy to say that between the raffles, generous donations and bracelet money, we raised $7,652 for Jalisa, with more donations expected.
A huge and special thanks goes to The Fishery for sponsoring the fundraiser, supplying unlimited food and drinks, allowing us to take over their back deck, and for donating a $100 Fishery gift card for the raffle.
A big thanks to all the other raffle donors, including Trilogy Hair Salon and Mur-Lees Men’s and Boyswear of Lynbrook, Protass Jewelry of Oceanside, Kim Pacheco and her family, the East Rockaway Fire Department Hose Co. No. 1 for donating a generous $500, Shannon Pujol and her family, Briana Costanzo, RVC Lanes, Victoria’s Nails, Rob Vassallo, Gers Hair Salon, Lawson Pub, Michaelene Cooper, ROK Gym, and so many others for their contributions.
We couldn’t have done all of this without everyone who came to support Jalisa and her family, who asked me to relay this message:
“Our family is so humbled. I wish words were enough, but they cannot express our love for the love East Rockaway has given us! Please know it helps in our recovery!”
