Lynbrook resident honored with Outstanding Fundraising award

The Association of Fundraising Professionals Long Island Chapter will be honoring Alan J. Kelly, a resident of Lynbrook, as a recipient of the Outstanding Fundraising Executive Award. This award recognizes a fundraising executive who exemplifies the philosophy of the AFP through ethical, innovative and dynamic professionalism.  Alan J. Kelly’s accomplishments will be celebrated at the Awards Luncheon of Philanthropy Day 2010 on Nov. 19 the Huntington Hilton in Melville.

  Kelly has been the Vice President for Development and Alumni Affairs at Hofstra University since 2005 and is responsible for all aspects of fundraising, development and alumni affairs including the recent completion of a $110 million capital and endowment campaign. He also oversees all aspects of leadership and major gift activity, board recruitment and training, alumni engagement, research, annual giving and special events.

Kelly is a current trustee member of Our Lady of Peace Parish in Lynbrook and a member of the Parish Finance Council.  He is also a member of the Village of Lynbrook Budget Committee, board member of AFPLI, member of CASE (Council for the Advancement and Support of Education) and a member of the President’s Council of Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Long Island.
