“She is a great feeder,” said Bridgewood of Vaughan Ware, who led the Generals with five goals and three assists in a 14-13 overtime loss to Carle Place last Friday. “She creates lot on the offensive side.”

While MacArthur has many potential scorers, the early success has been keyed by its defense. Bridgewood credits the play of Santeramo in net along with senior defender Maria Lorenzo with limiting opponents to single digits in the Generals’ first four wins.

“We have a very solid defense,” she said. “That is our strength this year.”

The overtime setback to Carle Place ended MacArthur’s three-game winning streak and leaves it 4-2-1 overall and 3-1 in league play with six regular-season games remaining. After an April 16 game against Baldwin, after presstime, MacArthur faces Mepham at home on April 22 before making a crosstown trip to Division two days later.
